Convention Elected Anand Bist as a President
New York, America- The first and historical Nepali Jana Samparka Samitii America convention has been successfully completed on Saturday. The convention which has been scheduled for 28th November 2008 to 29th November 2008 has completed nominating its new leadership for coming three years.The program has inaugurated by the special guests of Nepali Congress Vice President Gopal Man Shrestha and Central Committee Member Arjun Joshi paying their tribute on the photographs of the late leaders BP Koirala and Ganesh Man Singh.
  Inaugurating the program, Chief Guest, Sunil Kumar Bhandari, Central Committee of the Nepali Congress mentioned that the country has been passing through the Political Transitional Condition and it is important to make beware to Anti Democratic Elements remained in Nepal raising voices against of them to protect democracy, human right and security by the Nepali living in foreign land. Maoist are still not following the agreements previously made and there is high movement of foreigner in the nation which is danger for the development and democracy itself and to protect it, all Nepali should be one, he informed. He also reminds that the BP Koirala, National Reconciliation Principle is still relevant for this period. Congratulating newly elected member of Janasamparka Committee America, he also directed them to play a vital role to fulfill its principles for the sake of Democracy. In the program he wished the committee in America to keep its regular coordination and cooperation in the community and its sub chapters to strengthen the party movement. He also informed that he came all the way to Nepal on behalf of the party to give the well wishes of Party President, Vice President and all Central Committee member and also said that the General Convention which will turn to the mile stone to end the internal dispute within the committee in America.  Addressing the convention inauguration program, Nepali Congress Vice President, Gopal Man Shrestha appreciated the role of the Janasamparka Committee America by conducting Democratic Movement in America which has been highly recognized and evaluated by the central committee of the party. He directed, there is a need of Unity and powerful JanaSamparka Committee in America and it is the best time to end the Internal Dispute. He also informed that Nepali Congress is not in favor of any kind of Autocracy and able to abolish tyranny and will not see the birth of anarchy in the nation. Vice President, Shrestha who was Coordinator of Nepali Congress State Reconstruction also advised to the newly elected committee to provide important and necessary issues to include for the same.
Nepali Congress Central Committee member Arjun Joshai opined and wished, the first convention of the committee will able to provide the message of Unity forgetting all previous dispute within the committee in the USA. He also informed that Nepali Congress is only party in the nation to lead the peace process and it is always loyal towards the democracy and suggested the newly committee to spread the message to the Government of United States, its people and well wisher around the world.
The inauguration program was completed on the chairmanship of Janasampark Committee America President Mr. Ananda Bista. Speaking at the program, Kabir Rana, Nepali Congress Central Committee dissemination/broadcasting member and journalist informed and suggested that Maoist are only cause of danger of Democracy in Nepal and it is equally important to organize Anti-Maoist Activities by the members and well wisher of Nepali Congress even form foreign land. He also appreciated Ananda Bista, President of JanaSamparka Committee America to unify and mobilize Nepali Congress members and well wisher under his leadership for the sake of Democracy.
UN Ambassador Madhu Raman Acharya, Congress leader Bhoj Raj Kandel, General Convention Representative Vishwabandhu Parsai, Dr. Anga Raj Timilshina, Indira Thapa, Democratic Youth Forum Tek Gurung, Socialist Sailesh Shrestha addressed the program and congratulated to the newly elected committee. In the program, Sunil Kumar Bhandari, Chief Guest of the program honored to Dr. Tara Neurala, Bhoj Raj Kandel, Narendra Poudyal, Sailesh Shrestha and first Nepali Journalist Sagarmatha climber Anagchiring Sherpa with letter of Appreciation for their important role for Nepali Democratic Movement. The program was ended with success where our artist Tapashya Kharel, Priyanka Koirala, Puja Shahi, Sradha Shrestha, Priya Shai, Priya Koirala, Pasang Shring Serpa, Nawang Shrepa and Aang Gelu Sherpa performed and entertained the audiences.
The General Convention has nominated its 17 Members for its new Committee under the presidency of Ananda Bista. In which, there are five Vice President; Durga Dahal- Pennsylvania, Ravi Kiran Koirala,-New York, Sanobabu Silwal-North Carolina, Kaji Sherpa-NY and Anup Srivastav- California. Likewise, Bed Kharel-NY in General Secretary-, Gautam Dahal-MD in Sectary, Dharma Raj Shrestha-Colorado in Treasurer are nominated in the committee. Similarly, Indira Thapa-MD, Krishana Bista-NY, Parbha Sharma-MD, Mukti Dawadi-VA, Rabindra Pandey-CA, Binod Bhatta-CA, Bimal Moktan-PA and Gombu Sherpa-NY are nominated in the committee member. In convention, there was the participation from the 18 states of the United States. There were discussion on the various topics such as; Policy and program, mandate modification and Youth mobilization. Bed Kharel, General Secretary of the committee has presented 14 point Declaration Letter on the program. At the end of the program, Sunil Kumar Bhandari has distributed Certificate of Appreciation to all Artist and volunteers to make the program success.  |
